Introduction

Hi all, I am currently in the midst of doing 12 endurance challenges, 1 a month for the year, to raise money for Great Ormond Street!  Having never done anything above a half marathon before this year, I started with a certain amount of trepidation!! The events are a mixture of ultra-marathons, long distance cycle rides and marathons.

As I had not done anything like this before, I wanted to do a lot of reading on each event to try and understand better the tactics behind completing them...and if they were in fact possible!!

I wanted to write a blog to talk about how I found each event, how I trained for them, and how I felt during and afterwards!!



The Challenges:

January - The Fan Dance (Completed)
February - A lap of the Isle of Wight (67 miles running)
March - Cycling London to Paris
April - The London Marathon
May - The National 3 Peaks
June - Running Athens to Sparta (155 miles)
July - Run the Cleveland Way (110 miles)
August - The Peak District UltraMarathon
September - The Berlin Marathon
October - West Coast to East Coast Cycle
November - Scottish East to West Coast (Dual cycling and running event)
December - Cycling John O Groats to Lands End
